IREN is seeking a Finance Lead – SAP Implementation to drive the finance workstream of a S/4HANA SAP deployment in Madrid. You will partner with Finance, IT, and external delivery teams to design, build, and deploy the system to meet reporting and control requirements.

With 8–12 years in finance and strong SAP FI/CO experience, you will guide data migration, testing, training, and post-go-live support, while ensuring finance processes are standardized and compliant across the organisation.

Qualifikationen

• 8–12 years of finance experience, with ERP/SAP exposure.
• Led finance workstream on one SAP implementation (S/4HANA preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO and integration with MM, SD, PP modules.
• Solid understanding of record-to-report, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash.

The Finance Lead – SAP Implementation plays a key role in leading the finance workstream of the organisation’s SAP implementation, partnering with Finance, IT, and external delivery partners to ensure the system is designed, built, and deployed to meet the business’s financial reporting and control requirements.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Finance, the Finance Lead – SAProle is responsible for:

• Lead the finance workstream of the SAP implementation, acting as the primary point of contact between Finance and the wider project team.
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and validate finance requirements, ensuring alignment with statutory, reporting, and control needs.
• Work with SAP consultants and IT to design finance processes and system configuration, ensuring fit-for-purpose solutions across FI/CO and integration points.
• Lead or support key design decisions, drive process standardisation, and identify opportunities to improve controls and efficiency through the new system.
• Own the finance testing strategy, including unit, integration, and user acceptance testing, ensuring issues are identified, tracked, and resolved.
• Lead data migration activities for finance master and transactional data, ensuring accuracy and completeness ahead of go-live.
• Plan and coordinate cutover activities for the finance workstream, minimising disruption to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes.
• Develop and deliver training and change management activities to support finance user adoption of the new system.
• Support post-go-live stabilisation, ensuring finance issues are resolved quickly and control discipline is maintained.

Requirements

• Mínimum 8-12 years’ experience in finance, with significant exposure to ERP or SAP implementation projects.
• Proven experience leading the finance workstream on one SAP implementation (S/4HANA preferred), from design through to go-live and post-implementation support.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Finance modules (FI/CO) and their integration with other modules such as MM, SD, and PP.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and end-to-end finance processes (record to report, procure to pay, order to cash).
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into system design and to challenge and shape process design decisions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience engaging senior finance leaders, IT teams, and external implementation partners.
• Experience leading testing cycles, data migration, cutover planning, and training for finance system implementations.
• Project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, risks, and competing priorities in a complex, dynamic environment.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent is desirable.
• Maintain clear documentation of process design, configuration decisions, and controls to support audit and governance requirements.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English are required; experience in international, high-growth, infrastructure, energy, or technology environments will be positively valued.
