Atlantic Gate in Barcelona seeks a Finance & Accounting Manager to lead the local finance function and partner with management and HQ. You will oversee IFRS and Spanish GAAP reporting, monthly close, budgets, RFCs, and ensure robust controls while developing a small local team and coordinating with tax advisors, auditors, and payroll providers in Spain.

We’re hiring a Finance & Accounting Manager

Atlantic Gate is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Finance and Accounting Manager to join our Barcelona team.

Based in one of Europe’s most vibrant business hubs, our Barcelona team combines international exposure with an agile, entrepreneurial spirit. Your Role & Responsibilities

As Finance & Accounting Manager, you will lead the local finance function and act as a key partner to management and HQ. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead financial reporting under IFRS and Spanish GAAP, ensuring compliance and accuracy
• Manage the monthly closing process and ensure timely reporting to HQ
• Prepare and analyze management reports, budgets, and rolling forecasts (RFC)
• Provide clear visibility on financial performance, identifying drivers, risks, and opportunities
• Maintain high accounting standards and ensure robust internal controls
• Support audits and regulatory requirements in Spain
• Oversee daily accounting operations (AP, AR, collections, reconciliations)
• Ensure proper booking of all transactions and reliable financial records
• Lead and develop a small local accounting team
• Manage external partners (tax advisors, auditors, payroll providers in Spain)
• Deliver actionable financial insights to support local and global decision-making

Who We’re Looking For

You are a hands-on, solution-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-moving, international environment and enjoys building structure in a growing organization.

Your Profile:

• Strong background in accounting and financial management
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar (Master’s / CPA / equivalent is a plus)
• 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in an international company
• Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a similarly operational environment is an advantage
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and Spanish GAAP
• Strong experience with closing, budgeting, and forecasting
• Ability to translate financial data into clear business insights
• Familiarity with SAP FC and/or CargoWise is a plus
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
• Fluent in English; Spanish required for local compliance and stakeholder interaction
• Structured, pragmatic, and detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills across local and international stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead or mentor small teams
• Comfortable in a growing, dynamic, and hands-on environment
