Job summary

Evident Europe GmbH is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair high-end microscopy systems at customer sites across Europe and beyond. You will troubleshoot hardware/software, calibrate systems, and train customers while traveling extensively and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Mechatronics or related field.
• 2–5+ years of field service experience, preferably with confocal microscopy or analytical instruments.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals; strong hardware/software troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission advanced microscopy systems at customer sites
• Perform preventive maintenance and system calibrations
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and software issues
• Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement corrective actions
• Execute upgrades and modifications to existing systems
• Provide technical support and training to customers
• Act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through service delivery
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reports
• Manage service schedules, parts inventory, and travel planning
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with R&D, technical support, and sales to resolve issues
• Support remote diagnostics and digital service tools
• Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements
• Participate in technical training to stay current
• Share knowledge and best practices within the service organization
