Austin Public Library is seeking a Buildings & Grounds Assistant to perform custodial and grounds-keeping tasks across library facilities. You will assist with cleaning interiors, basic maintenance, and event setup, while supporting safety and quality standards.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate power tools, and learn cleaning equipment. Flexible scheduling is possible, with full‑time hours across shifts at library branches.

Formación

• One year of experience related to janitorial or grounds keeping services.
• Ability to operate and learn use of cleaning equipment and tools.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and floor plan sketches.

Responsabilidades

• Clean building interiors.
• Perform grounds maintenance.
• Set‑up and tear down exhibit halls and ballrooms per event specs.
• Perform minor construction work such as erecting partitions, building or tearing down walls, painting.
• Train new employees to perform basic duties.
