CHRISTUS Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital is seeking a housekeeping staff member responsible for maintaining a clean, safe environment for patients and staff. The role includes daily room cleaning, linen replacement, trash removal, and general sanitary duties.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of housekeeping experience. Must be able to lift heavy items and work as part of a team in a hospital setting.

Summary

This position is responsible for disinfecting and creating a clean, safe and attractive environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may encounter chemical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Clean patients’ rooms daily.
• Clean linen replacement.
• Removal of soiled linen and collection.
• Provide trash collection and bathroom spot cleaning.
• Provide project cleaning and spill clean up.
• Make beds daily.
• Clean patient equipment.
• Dust and wet mopping.
• Moves furniture and office equipment.
• Cleans offices, waiting rooms, public areas and hospital grounds.
• May collect hazardous waste and transport it in a special closed container for sterilization.
• Works as part of a team in delivering environmental services.
• Remains flexible and able to accept alternate work assignments that meet the needs of the facility and facilitates patient flow.
• Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.

Compensation: $10.50 - $16.10 an hour based on applicable job experience
