Product Owner for BI Analytics

As part of the End-to-End Digital Customer Relationships, Digital services has become one of the key pillars to grow Services revenue. Schneider Electric is seeking an experienced Project Owner with a strong technical background to lead and manage projects within a software development environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing tech-related projects, proficiency in agile methodologies, and technical expertise to effectively communicate with development teams, designers, and stakeholders.

Tableau and BI Analytics systems are key platforms for storing the data of our connected assets, and we provide support to our customers and customized recommendations.

Position Overview

The Product Owner plays a central role in defining product value, aligning business needs with technical delivery, and ensuring that the development team delivers outcomes that maximize business impact. This role acts as the strategic bridge between stakeholders and platform teams, ensuring that functional demands are properly prioritized and aligned with both business objectives and platform capabilities. According to industry standards, Product Owners define product vision, manage the product backlog, and ensure delivered features meet customer and stakeholder needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Vision & Strategy
  • Define and communicate a clear BI and Analytics product long‑term vision that aligns with business goals and stakeholder needs.
  • Build, maintain, and evolve the product roadmap based on customer insights, market trends, and company objectives.
  • Ensure product strategy supports the broader platform strategy, lifecycle management, and technology roadmap.
  • Backlog Ownership & Prioritization
  • Own and manage the BI and Analytics product backlog, prioritizing items based on business value and feasibility.
  • Decompose features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria and business context.
  • Review evolving requirements and ensure alignment with governance, platform constraints, and strategic goals.
  • Decommission non‑used dashboards and complete technical debt reviews on time.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, feedback loops, and product discussions to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Align and prioritize functional demands, holding decision authority for functionality while collaborating with Platform Owners (who retain veto rights on functional items).
  • Agile Delivery & Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with Scrum or Agile teams, participating in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Support development teams with just‑in‑time elaboration of user stories and requirement details.
  • Remove impediments or escalation them to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement & Value Maximization
  • Continuously evaluate BI and Analytics product performance, customer satisfaction, and feature adoption to refine product direction.
  • Use analytics and user feedback to drive prioritization and product enhancements.
  • Promote practices such as communities of practice, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem‑solving within product and platform teams.
  • Collaboration With Business Product Owner
  • Ensure BI and Analytics product requirements align with platform capabilities, security requirements, and lifecycle constraints.
  • Work with Platform Owners on technology‑related demands, understanding platform transformations such as cloud migrations or decommissioning activities.
  • Support compliance with security standards and ensure product features align with security‑by‑design principles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Core Product Ownership Competencies
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban.
  • Ability to define product goals, prioritize features, and manage complex backlogs.
  • Skilled in translating business outcomes into actionable user stories.
  • Solid capability to balance user needs, stakeholder interests, and technical feasibility.
Communication & Leadership Skills
  • Exceptional communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with engineering, business, and leadership teams.
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills to align diverse groups around product priorities.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive cross‑functional decision‑making.
Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Good understanding of enterprise IT systems (bonus if experienced with large‑scale or customer‑facing systems).
  • Familiarity with product analytics, KPI tracking, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Ability to assess risks, identify issues, and support mitigation planning for product delivery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure technologies.
Mindset & Behavior
  • Customer‑centric mindset with continuous improvement orientation.
  • Ability to foster knowledge sharing, collaboration, and organizational learning.
  • Strong ownership mentality with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Preferred Experience
  • 4–8 years of experience in BI and Analytics Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Solution Design, or related roles.
  • Experience working with global platforms, complex technology ecosystems, or enterprise‑level programs.
  • Agile certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM) is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating functional demands in environments with strong platform governance is highly valued.
