MediaMarktSaturn Plattform Services GmbH is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data analytics solutions in a Barcelona technology hub. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to deploy scalable data pipelines and analytics capabilities across the organization.

The role emphasizes end-to-end data engineering—from design and data prep to deployment—while mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices in CI/CD and IaC.

Formación

• 3–5 years hands-on data engineer experience.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on GCP.
• BigQuery data modeling for analytics use cases.
• CI/CD pipelines and IaC experience (GitHub Actions, Terraform).
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
• Ability to lead design discussions and mentor junior engineers.

• Identify and refine issues that can be solved with data analysis solutions in close collaboration with business stakeholders.
• Implement data analysis solutions from conceptual design, data preparation, testing to operationalization and deployment as part of a cross-disciplinary team of data scientists, data engineers and software developers.
• Continuously improve the implemented solutions.
• Perform ad hoc analysis as requested by key stakeholders

Your Profile

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience as data engineer building solutions for data analysis.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and cost-efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services (e.g., Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery).
• Expertise in BigQuery data modeling, supporting complex analytics for business use cases such as category performance, pricing strategy, and assortment optimization.
• Deep understanding of GCP architecture and services; ideally Google Cloud Certified.
• Experience in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, ideally with GitHub Actions and Terraform.
• Ability to lead design discussions, review code, and mentor junior engineers — someone who can provide technical leadership and ensure best practices.
• Highly motivated, results-oriented, with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken, to articulate complex concepts clearly.
