MediaMarktSaturn Technology in Barcelona seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to build and scale our Marketplace platform. You’ll manage Google Cloud / GKE, implement infrastructure as code with Terraform, and advance CI/CD using GitHub Actions.

You’ll focus on reliability, security, and self-service tooling across our Europe-wide solution. The role emphasizes a product mindset for platform engineering, strong observability, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

As part of our Marketplace development team, you’ll help build and scale one of the key digital growth engines of MediaMarktSaturn, Europe's leading omnichannel consumer electronics retailer. Our platform lets third‑party sellers join our webshop, list their products, and reach customers across Europe – expanding our assortment, boosting availability, and driving a fast‑growing share of online revenue.

Your Profile

• Independent work style, strong ownership, and clear communication
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in cloud environments and understanding of real-world failure modes
• Comfort with GCP (IAM, networking, clusters) and infrastructure changes managed via Terraform
• Experience with CI/CD systems (ideally GitHub Actions) and GitOps workflows
• Strong focus on monitoring, alerting, and system debuggability
• Ability to contribute to development when needed (TypeScript/Node.js, pipelines, CLI tools)
• Understanding of modern backend architectures (e.g. NestJS, REST/GraphQL, Pub/Sub, MongoDB, Redis)
• Trade-off-oriented thinking with explicit decision-making
