Job summary

MediaMarktSaturn Technology in Barcelona seeks an AI Platform Engineer to shape enterprise AI by building secure, scalable capabilities across value streams. You will implement shared services, guardrails, and tooling to accelerate responsible AI adoption at scale.

You will collaborate with AgentOps, AI Integration, and DevSecOps teams to deliver end-to-end platform solutions, while advancing infrastructure, automation, and governance practices for the MMS group.

Qualifications

• Experience in Software Engineering, DevOps or Platform Engineering with AI/ML exposure.
• Hands-on work across cloud infra, APIs, security, or monitoring.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and modern platform architectures.

Your Tasks

Join the AI, CX & Marketing Platform team at MediaMarktSaturn as an AI Platform Engineer and help shape the future of enterprise AI! We're on a mission to build secure, scalable, and cost-effective AI capabilities that empower every Value Stream across MMS to innovate with confidence. As part of our governance-first platform, you'll deliver the shared services, guardrails, and tools that make rapid, responsible AI adoption possible at scale - turning bold ideas into real impact across the business.

Your Tasks

• Cross-Platform Engineering Ownership: Own scoped AI Platform capabilities across operations, integration, and security - from design and implementation through deployment and production operation, collaborating with specialists where needed.
• AI Quality & Reliability: Build monitoring, automated evaluations, and regression checks for AI workloads - covering quality, latency and cost. Integrate these checks into release workflows and implement controlled rollout and rollback mechanisms.
• Integration & Developer Enablement: Work with application teams to build reusable AI tool integrations, APIs, and gateway components that connect AI models with business services. Provide reference implementations and clear onboarding paths that make the platform easier to adopt.
• Security & Compliance Awareness: Help implement baseline security practices, support governance and compliance efforts. Ensure security considerations are embedded into day-to-day platform engineering work.
• Infrastructure & Configuration Management: Assist in maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code, configuration management systems and deployment pipelines that underpin the AI Platform's foundational infrastructure.
• Knowledge Bridging: Act as a connective layer between the specialized AgentOps, AI Integration, and AI DevSecOps functions - translating context between teams, identifying gaps and helping ensure consistency across the platform.
• Documentation & Continuous Learning: Create clear documentation of cross-functional workflows. Actively build expertise across multiple platform domains, growing into areas of deeper specialization over time.

Your Profile

• Experience: 3-5+ years in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering, ideally with exposure to AI/ML systems, integration work, and/or security practices
• Broad Technical Foundation: Solid, hands-on experience across at least two of the following areas: cloud infrastructure & monitoring, API/integration development, or security & compliance - with genuine curiosity to grow in the others
• AI/ML Familiarity: Practical understanding of AI/ML concepts, LLM-based systems, and modern AI platform architectures, with willingness to deepen this knowledge on the job
• Technical Stack: Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, or similar), familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably GCP), containerization, and CI/CD practices
• Adaptability: Strong track record of working across shifting priorities and unfamiliar domains, comfortable learning quickly and context-switching between operational, integration, and security tasks
• Systems Thinking: Ability to understand how platform components interact end-to-end, helping spot dependencies and risks that span multiple specialist areas
• Collaboration: Excellent English skills with a talent for working closely with specialized engineers, synthesizing input from multiple teams, and communicating clearly across disciplines in a remote environment
