The mission of the Events Manager position is to :
- Maximize the hotel’s revenue and profitability through event sales, aligning results with the organization’s marketing and sales strategy.
Regarding the responsibilities and functions of the role, the Events Manager position will be in charge of :
- Maximizing the hotel’s revenue and profitability, as well as that of its various outlets, through the sale of banquets, weddings, conferences, and other events.
- Maximizing revenue potential through contracting and upselling.
- Leading and managing the entire event process : from proposal to closing, excluding day of execution, acting solely as the liaison between the hotel and the client.
- Anticipating, assisting, and following up on client needs and issues to ensure service excellence and achieve customer satisfaction in line with the organization’s internal standards.
- Maintaining full knowledge of all hotel spaces and facilities, including availability and rates; contractual terms and conditions; and available menus.
- Overseeing logistical planning and ensuring effective internal communication with the Front Desk and F&B departments.
- Collecting and ensuring the accuracy and updating of client data in the internal system.
- Managing external vendors.
- Managing event satisfaction surveys and the corresponding strategy.
- Preparing and presenting sales reports required by the Sales & Marketing department, following result analysis and report preparation.
- Forecasting potential event-related revenue and costs to ensure budget compliance in line with projected income targets.
- Collecting and updating the data system with information on agencies, destination management companies, and institutional organizations, both national and international, with the aim of carrying out event acquisition and direct sales actions.
- Maintaining an up-to-date event sales strategy aligned with business demand.
- Supporting the development of the annual plan for the Sales & Marketing department.
- Managing interns / trainees within the events department.
Regarding the Hard Skills required for the position, we are looking for someone with :
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in events or large-scale Food & Beverage (F&B) operations.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Knowledge of other languages will be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Academic background in Public Relations, Protocol and / or Event Management, or a related field is desirable.
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of the Ulyses system is an advantage.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite tools is also valued.
