Job summary

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking an Equity Derivatives Trader based in Madrid. You will manage market risk, price and execute equity derivative transactions and collaborate with global teams to deliver tailored client solutions.

Required English, Spanish preferred, and a background in equity derivatives trading within Global Markets. The role emphasizes governance, risk controls and growth of the desk.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing equity derivatives in a trading role within Global Markets.
• Experience with Structured equity Products.

Responsibilities

• Manage market risk of the Equity Derivatives trading desk within risk appetite and limits.
• Price and execute Equity Derivatives transactions for clients.
• Collaborate with Sales, Structuring, Risk, Quants and other Global Markets teams.
• Coordinate with trading teams across the global platform for consistent pricing and risk.
• Monitor market developments and identify trading opportunities; implement hedging strategies.
• Contribute to development of the Equity Derivatives franchise through product knowledge and process improvements.

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) is looking for a Equity Derivatives Trader based out of Boadilla del Monte, Madrid, Spain.

As a Equity Derivatives Trader, you will play a key role within our Global Markets business, managing the market risk of the Equity Derivatives trading desk while delivering pricing and execution across a range of equity derivative products for institutional and corporate clients. This is a global role, working closely with colleagues across our international trading platform to provide best-in-class client solutions while maintaining robust risk management standards.

• Managing the market risk of the Equity Derivatives trading book in line with the desk’s risk appetite and limits.
• Pricing and executing Equity Derivatives transactions for clients.
• Working closely with Sales, Structuring, Risk, Quants and other Global Markets teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
• Collaborating with trading teams across our global platform to ensure consistent pricing, risk management and client coverage.
• Monitoring market developments, identifying trading opportunities and implementing effective hedging strategies.
• Contributing to the continued development of the Equity Derivatives franchise through product expertise, innovation and process improvements.
• Maintaining the highest standards of governance, control and risk management while supporting the growth of the business.

Professional Experience

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing equity derivatives in a trading role within Global Markets. (Required)
• Experience with Structured equity Products. (Preferred)
• Experience with e-Trading platforms and being familiar with price management and feedback analysis. (Preferred)

Education

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or another quantitative discipline. (Required)
• Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc or CFA) is advantageous. (Preferred)

Languages

• English (Required)
• Spanish (Preferred)

Hard Skills

• Strong understanding of equity derivatives, pricing and market risk management. (Required)
• Bloomberg and advanced Excel skills. (Required)
• Programming knowledge (Python, VBA or similar) and experience with trading analytics tools. (Preferred)
