Job description

Are you passionate about equine-assisted therapy and looking for a meaningful position on the island of Mallorca? An established organisation in the private health and healthcare sector is currently seeking a dedicated guide for equine-assisted interventions based in Marratxí. In this vital role, you will work closely alongside therapists and multidisciplinary specialists, facilitating purposeful sessions where horses play a central role in therapeutic, educational, and social development.

Your primary mission is to ensure the safety, well-being, and proper guidance of the horse throughout each session. You will be responsible for preparing the animal beforehand, monitoring its behavior, and guiding it attentively in coordination with the lead therapist. In addition, you will collaborate actively with other healthcare and educational professionals on site, while taking full responsibility for the routine care, cleaning, and maintenance of all therapeutic and equestrian materials.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Preparing the horse appropriately prior to every session to guarantee a calm and secure environment.
• Guiding the horse properly and safely during interventions in direct coordination with the therapist.
• Working collaboratively with the broader team of healthcare, social, and educational specialists.
• Ensuring the proper care, cleaning, and storage of equestrian gear and session equipment.

To be considered for this opening, you must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• A formal accredited qualification in healthcare, education, or social fields.
• Proven equestrian knowledge and confidence in handling horses in structured environments.
• A minimum of 3 months of relevant professional experience.
• A valid Category B driver's license and your own vehicle to commute independently to the facility in Marratxí.

This position offers a permanent employment contract (contrato indefinido) with a regular work schedule from Monday to Friday, between 14:00 and 19:00 (35 hours per week). The compensation is established at 19,000 euros gross per year based on a full-time schedule, regulated under the disability sector collective agreement (convenio de discapacidad).
