About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data & Cloud Architect to join our team supporting our Banking Client in the UK. This role is critical in designing and overseeing the implementation of IT solutions that address complex business needs. You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high‑performing architectures aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business and technical requirements into architectural designs.
• Create and maintain architecture documentation (diagrams, specifications, design docs).
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with developers, engineers, PMs, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Conduct code and architecture reviews to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Support project teams during implementation and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance policies.
• Produce specifications for cloud-based or on‑prem components, tiers, and interfaces.

Mandatory Skills

• REST fundamentals and API design (OpenAPI Specification 3.0 preferred)
• Strong knowledge of API standards and patterns
• Experience across front‑end, middleware, and back‑end technologies
• Infrastructure, networking design, and AWS cloud architecture
• Software architecture patterns and design principles
• Strategic planning and systems analysis
• Data modeling (star / snowflake schemas), normalization, and efficient storage
• Experience with data structures (tables, views, stored procedures)
