Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager, Pricing & Revenue based in Spain.

As Engineering Manager, Pricing & Revenue, you’ll lead the development of core systems that power hotel distribution, pricing, and revenue optimization across a global travel technology platform. You’ll combine technical leadership with hands‑on engineering, shaping architecture and guiding a team responsible for systems with a direct impact on commercial performance. You’ll tackle complex backend challenges, from processing searches across approximately 200 hotel suppliers to building a sophisticated pricing engine and automated rebooking capabilities. Working closely with Product and Trading, you’ll turn business opportunities into scalable, reliable technical solutions. With a small team, minimal bureaucracy, and significant autonomy, you’ll have the opportunity to make meaningful decisions, mentor engineers, and see the measurable impact of your work.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the technical direction, architecture, reliability, and delivery of the Pricing & Revenue engineering domain.

  • Design and develop a sophisticated pricing engine that balances supplier availability, demand, competitiveness, distribution, and profit margins.

  • Build and improve high-performance hotel search systems capable of handling synchronous queries across approximately 200 suppliers while maintaining predictable latency and reliability.

  • Develop new trading capabilities, including automated rebooking workflows, initially supporting internal operations and potentially evolving into customer-facing products.

  • Improve hotel search availability and booking fulfilment, ensuring customers can successfully complete the reservations they initiate.

  • Remain hands‑on with architecture, code, system design, and production troubleshooting while guiding the team's technical execution.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a small engineering team, supporting recruitment, technical development, and high-quality delivery.

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Trading to translate complex commercial challenges into technical solutions with measurable business outcomes.

  • Take ownership of engineering decisions and production systems, continuously improving scalability, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, move quickly, and deliver improvements with minimal organizational overhead.

Requirements
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams while remaining actively involved in architecture, coding, and production systems.

  • Strong backend engineering expertise, including substantial experience with Go.

  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems, high‑volume APIs, latency optimization, concurrency, and reliability engineering.

  • Experience designing, building, or improving marketplace, trading, pricing, or optimization systems involving both supply and demand.

  • Understanding of how pricing, inventory, distribution, and fulfilment interact within a marketplace environment.

  • Ability to translate complex commercial objectives into robust technical architectures and engineering initiatives that deliver measurable results.

  • Experience working with systems that manage real‑world inventory, such as travel, mobility, delivery, or e‑commerce platforms, is particularly valuable.

  • Strong technical judgment and the ability to make architectural decisions independently while balancing immediate business needs with long‑term scalability.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to align engineering work with product and commercial priorities.

  • Comfort operating in fast‑moving environments with ambiguity, limited processes, and a high degree of individual accountability.

  • A hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset and a genuine interest in tackling technically challenging systems with direct commercial impact.

Benefits
  • Remote and hybrid flexibility: Work remotely from within Europe or choose a hybrid arrangement in Barcelona, Dublin, London, or Palma de Mallorca. Specific arrangements for Romania should be confirmed during the recruitment process.

  • Meaningful equity opportunity: Participate in the company's growth through equity, with potential upside as future milestones are achieved.

  • Significant technical ownership: Shape architecture, define the evolution of a core revenue-generating platform, and influence important engineering decisions.

  • High autonomy: Work in a fast-moving environment with small teams, limited bureaucracy, and the freedom to make decisions and implement improvements.

  • Hands‑on leadership: Continue developing your engineering expertise while mentoring and growing a team.

  • Direct business impact: See how technical decisions influence pricing competitiveness, platform performance, revenue, and customer outcomes.

  • Global collaboration: Work on infrastructure serving an international travel ecosystem and supporting major travel, technology, and fintech partners.
