HENSOLDT South Africa is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop the Electronic Engineering discipline in alignment with product market requirements and the company’s long-term business objectives.

You will drive engineering excellence across product design, development, systems engineering, and technology advancement, build high-performing teams, improve processes, and ensure delivery of innovative, high-quality electronic products.

Formación

• Minimum BEng in Electronic Engineering and/or B.Eng Engineering Management
• Management training or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
• Previous experience managing an electronic engineering discipline team or technical team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Engineering Manager to lead and develop the Electronic Engineering discipline in alignment with product market requirements and the company’s long-term business objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving engineering excellence across product design, development, systems engineering, and technology advancement. This role requires a strong leader who can establish engineering best practices, develop high-performing teams, improve processes, and ensure the delivery of innovative, high-quality electronic products.

The Engineering Manager will play a key role in shaping future technologies, improving product development efficiency, and ensuring the organisation remains competitive within the engineering and technology landscape.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum BEng in Electronic Engineering and/or B.Eng Engineering Management
• Management training or equivalent qualification would be advantageous
• Previous experience managing an electronic engineering discipline team or technical team

Key Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of electronic design principles, production methods, techniques, procedures, and equipment
• Experience in the technical management of electronic product design and related engineering support functions
• Knowledge of resource allocation, and people management
• Strong understanding of Electronic Engineering and Technology within multidisciplinary product development and manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of firmware and electronics development lifecycles
• Knowledge of business and operational management principles
