As an Engineering Manager for Payments, you will lead a team of engineers in building scalable, high-performance systems and mentor others while aligning technical execution with business goals.

About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of innovative, scalable, and maintainable solutions that align with business objectives
• Drive technical excellence by promoting best practices, resolving complex challenges, and fostering a collaborative environment
• Act as a bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, aligning technical roadmaps with business goals while communicating risks and opportunities effectively
• Focus on team growth, ensuring engineers have the tools, guidance, and support to excel in their roles

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Guide the team in designing and developing scalable, secure, and reliable payment systems
• Oversee system architecture, balancing innovation with maintainability and performance
• Ensure smooth execution of complex, cross-functional projects
• Champion best practices, testing, and quality assurance in all deliverables

Team Management

• Mentor, coach, and grow engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, and innovation
• Provide clear feedback, career guidance, and motivation to help team members excel
• Build cohesion across frontend and backend squads, ensuring alignment on goals and delivery

Strategic & Operational Excellence

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps aligned with business goals
• Drive continuous improvement in workflows, observability, and incident management
• Balance priorities between new feature development, system maintenance, and bug fixing

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in React, Tailwind, Angular, C#, .NET, SQL, MongoDB, Kafka
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure or similar) is highly valued
• Familiarity with financial/booking systems
• Knowledge of microservices, event-driven systems, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Solid grounding in CI/CD, test automation, and Agile practices
