A fast-growing fintech company based in Cataluña is seeking an Engineering Manager to shape the engineering vision and lead two product-oriented squads. The role is full-time with hybrid work arrangements. The ideal candidate has a software development background and at least 2 years' experience managing teams in dynamic environments, especially in fintech. Salary is €80,000 – €90,000 gross per year.

Engineering Manager

Up to 3 days per week remote (hybrid). Permanent CDI. Salary €80,000 – €90,000 gross per year.

A fast-growing fintech specializing in Open Finance, API-based banking services, and Embedded Finance. Headquartered between Barcelona and Paris, operating across Europe and Latin America. Licensed as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) with passport rights.

Company

The team consists of approximately 100 employees from diverse cultural and international backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to shaping the engineering vision, structure, and processes.
• Lead and oversee two product-oriented squads (each including a Tech Lead, Developers, and QA Engineers).
• Take part in hiring, onboarding, and developing team cohesion and motivation.
• Define and monitor performance and quality KPIs, analyze results, and drive continuous improvement.
• Organize and run delivery rituals (stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, etc.).
• Maintain awareness of security and regulatory requirements specific to the sector.
• Advise and participate in strategic technical decisions.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong background in software development.
• At least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams in a dynamic environment (scale-up, tech, fintech...).
• Strong leadership, mentoring ability, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to balance technical quality and delivery speed.
• Knowledge of Python, microservices architectures, or gRPC is an advantage.
• Previous experience in the fintech or financial services industry is a plus.
