Job summary

MDPI, headquartered in Switzerland with a Barcelona office, is seeking a qualified professional to support editorial workflows for scholarly journals. The role focuses on coordinating peer-review, ensuring manuscript formatting per house standards, and maintaining timely communication with authors and editors.

Qualifications

• PhD in Engineering Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Information Engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent English and Spanish skills in written and spoken language.
• Ability to multi-task, attention to detail.
• Experience with scholarly publishing is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support the editorial process for academic research journals centered on your domain of expertise.
• Organize peer-review evaluations for submitted manuscripts and coordinate editorial decisions.
• Be in charge of formatting manuscripts according to our in-house standards.
• Handle e-mail communication between the parties involved in the publication process.
• Collaborate with other members of the editorial and production teams.
• Ensure that scholarly articles are thoroughly edited and published, according to tight deadlines and with a high degree of consistency.
