Job summary

SmartestEnergy UK is seeking an experienced energy origination professional to lead bespoke trading transactions in local Power, Gas & Environmental Markets and support expansion into other European geographies.

You will originate agreements with large industrials and other counterparties, maintain a strong industry network, and collaborate with risk, regulation and legal teams to deliver profitable, compliant transactions while supporting group objectives.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in wholesale energy markets, ideally in a front-office role.
• Proven track record originating energy products and structuring deals.
• Strong client network in local power and gas markets with European exposure.

Responsibilities

• Originate bespoke energy trading services agreements with large industrials and counterparties.
• Generate leads for linear and non-linear transactions with wholesale participants.
• Maintain a network of industry contacts and develop a robust deal pipeline.
• Develop origination strategies and support product development for risk tools.
• Collaborate with risk, regulation, and legal teams on bespoke transactions and reports.
