Job summary

Aurora Energy Research in Madrid is seeking an Advisory Analyst to develop quantitative analyses and convey insights that support client decision making. You will join a team that identifies issues, forms hypotheses, conducts analyses, and synthesises conclusions into practical recommendations.

The successful candidate will combine strong quantitative skills with teamwork and a genuine interest in Iberian power markets, while working in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject (e.g. Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Finance).
• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information.
• Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties.
• Genuine interest in understanding the Iberian power markets.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Availability to join Aurora Madrid office as soon as possible.
• Experience in conducting analysis on power markets (desirable).
• Fluency in Portuguese (desirable).
• Master’s degree in a quantitative subject (desirable).
• Competence in Python, R, Matlab, Advanced Excel (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Develop timely and rigorous quantitative analyses to enhance clients’ decision making.
• Work closely with our modelling team, structuring economic problems into quantifiable analyses.
• Contribute to Aurora’s product development by identifying new opportunities and expanding our capabilities.
• Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements.
• Communicate and present findings to clients.
