Job summary

Première Urgence Internationale is seeking an Emergency Coordinator based in Damascus to lead the country’s emergency response programmes. You will work under the Head of Mission to implement, coordinate and adapt interventions, ensuring rapid, effective actions in line with humanitarian standards.

You will develop strategy, oversee teams and coordinate with technical, support and field staff, donors and partners. Fluency in English is required; Arabic or French skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in humanitarian project management is required.
• Minimum 2 years in emergency response or similar international context.
• Experience in project/humanitarian coordination and needs assessment is valued.
• Strong writing, communication and negotiation skills; ability to work in unstable contexts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement emergency response programmes in the country.
• Participate in strategy development and propose new interventions or modalities for emergencies.
• Organize, supervise and support teams for missions, assessments and response.
• Continuously analyse needs and monitor the context and response.
• Represent the organization and coordinate with other NGOs and external actors.
• Ensure team security and contribute to mission security management.
