dormakaba Madrid is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to own firmware across our access control product range. You will develop and maintain firmware modules for MCU architectures, spanning application, middleware, and HAL.

Based in Madrid, you will work in a SAFe environment with Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, and CMake, and ensure compliance with IEC 61508 and related standards while delivering secure firmware.

Formación

• Bachelor or Master with embedded software focus or experience.
• Three to five years of relevant working experience in embedded firmware.
• Experience across MCU architectures and safety standards is advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Derive, analyze, and implement embedded system requirements.
• Design firmware architectures and estimate development effort.
• Maintain and extend firmware in C, C++, and C# across platforms.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, ISO 13849, EN 16005, EN 17352.
• Implement and maintain a secure firmware lifecycle.
• Contribute to modular platform design and reusable modules.
• Operate in a SAFe environment with Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, CMake, and testing tools.

The Embedded Software Engineer will be based in Madrid and will take ownership of our firmware embedded in our access control product range, including system-level integration. You will develop and maintain firmware modules across multiple platforms, spanning application, middleware, HAL, functional safety, and CRA requirements. Ultimately you will drive the design of a reusable, modular embedded platform (HAL/middleware) for modern MCU architectures.

What you will do

• Derive, analyze, and implement embedded system requirements
• Design firmware architectures and estimate development effort
• Maintain and extend existing firmware in full range of responsibility (C, C++, C#)
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508, ISO 13849, EN 16005, EN 17352
• Implement and maintain a secure firmware lifecycle
• Contribute to system architecture and modular platform design; develop reusable modules
• Operate in a SAFe based agile environment (Jira, Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, CMake) with testing (Tessy, C-Test, GTEst, Ceedling) and code Quality tools (SonarQube)

• Typical education level Bachelor plus 3-5 years of relevant working experience OR Master degree with 2-3 of working experience
