Job summary

Santander is seeking a Director of Business Line Compliance to lead the Madrid compliance function for Global Markets, Global Banking, and GTB. You will partner with senior regional executives, define local compliance strategy, and oversee governance, advisory, and control activities across the Madrid platform.

You will drive regulatory change programs, manage complex product coverage, and collaborate with global teams to ensure risk-aware decision making in a fast-paced financial services

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Extensive regulatory knowledge across EU/global frameworks.
• Proven leadership at director level in financial services.
• Ability to translate regulation into business strategy and action.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Madrid Compliance in Global Markets, Global Banking and GTB.
• Advise senior leaders on high-impact, regulatory matters with real-time, credible challenge.
• Oversee regulatory engagements, governance, and internal control programs.
• Collaborate across Global Compliance to harmonize policies and reporting.
