Alexion seeks a Director, RDU IT – AI to lead the development and deployment of scalable AI models and platforms. You’ll partner with business and scientific units to translate needs into AI-enabled solutions and shape patient-centric data and analytics strategy.

You will manage regional engineering teams, ensure responsible AI practices, and drive continuous improvement across architectures, governance, and production operations. This is based in Barcelona, Spain.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
• Proven experience delivering production AI/ML/data science solutions, incl. large language models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning.
• Hands-on Python and AI frameworks, with SQL and analytics knowledge.
• Strong MLOps and software delivery experience: CI/CD, versioning, containerization, scalable production ops.
• Knowledge of cloud-based AI/data architectures (AWS, data lakes, serverless, Kubernetes).
• Experience leading geographically distributed technical teams and stakeholder management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex insights into business terms.

Responsabilidades

• Lead development, deployment, and scaling of AI models and systems addressing business and scientific challenges.
• Mentor regional engineering teams and foster cross-geography collaboration.
• Provide technical leadership across full solution lifecycle: discovery to optimization.
• Oversee AI infrastructure architecture, automation, and reliability.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise platforms and workflows for measurable value.
• Establish reusable assets and delivery methods to accelerate AI solutions across value chain.
• Collaborate with business leaders, data scientists, engineers, and SMEs to translate data insights into action.
• Ensure responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI with governance and monitoring.
