Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Barcelona seeks a Director, RDU IT – AI to lead scalable AI solutions that drive business and scientific innovation.

You will manage regional engineering teams, provide technical leadership across the full AI solution lifecycle, and ensure responsible AI use while partnering with senior stakeholders.

This role requires strong Python, ML frameworks, cloud, MLOps, and experience delivering production AI at scale in biopharma.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience delivering production AI, ML, data science or software engineering solutions including LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and AI-powered apps.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python and leading AI frameworks with SQL and analytics knowledge.
• Strong MLOps and software delivery experience including CI/CD, version control, containerization, and scalable production operations.
• Solid knowledge of cloud-based AI and data architectures, AWS, Kubernetes, serverless tech, data lakes, and elastic compute.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of scalable AI models and systems.
• Mentor regional engineering teams and foster collaboration across geographies.
• Provide technical leadership across the full solution lifecycle from discovery to deployment.
• Oversee architecture, automation, scalability, and reliability of AI infrastructure and platforms.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise platforms, APIs, and workflows for measurable value.
• Establish reusable assets and delivery methods to accelerate AI solutions.
• Partner with business leaders to translate data-driven insights into action.
• Ensure responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI with governance and monitoring.
