Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe, Spain, seeks a Database Product Manager to lead strategy, lifecycle and evolution of the database product. You will align with internal customers and tech standards, guiding a global team on database, observability and automation initiatives.

You will drive roadmaps, manage releases and SLAs, monitor trends, and optimize cost and performance while coordinating with external providers and stakeholders in a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years as a Database engineer or similar role.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Developer, or Database Specialist.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with major relational databases.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Knowledge of automation of database tasks is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team.
• Languages: advanced English and negotiation level Spanish.

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a dynamic, skilled and motivated Database Product Manager (m/f) to join our "Database and Hosting tools" team based in Getafe, Spain. You will be part of a PSL (Product & Service Line) within the Digital Infrastructure organisation which is in charge of designing, building and operating the Hosting infrastructure of the company. You will join an international team focused on implementing and operating Database, Observability, Automation, and Orchestration solutions. Specifically, as Database Product manager, you will be responsible to lead the strategy, lifecycle and evolution of our database product, ensuring alignment with internal customer needs and technology standards.

Your challenges

• Define and drive the database product strategy, roadmap and lifecycle.
• Translate internal customer needs into a prioritized backlog and scalable solutions.
• Design database solutions based on customer requirements, balancing performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Manage releases, version upgrades and continuous product evolution.
• Define and govern operational models and SLAs.
• Monitor market trends and drive innovation in database technologies.
• Define and manage financial models (chargeback) and promote efficient consumption of database product.

This position also includes responsibilities in service delivery, overseeing external providers delivering database operations, ensuring service quality, SLA compliance and continuous improvement.

Your profile

• Professional experience: 5+ years as a Database engineer or similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, Database Developer, or Database Specialist.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one major relational database system (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) is a plus.
• Knowledge of automation of database tasks is a plus.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• Languages: advanced level English and negotiation level Spanish.

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
