Airbus Helicopters is seeking an IT Operation Specialist for Advanced Linux Support in Albacete, Spain. The role covers end-to-end Linux lifecycle management, system provisioning, and automation with Foreman/Puppet/Ansible in a large enterprise environment.

You will collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, maintain documentation, and drive continuous improvement in performance and reliability. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Formación

• Experience administering Linux in a large enterprise
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Ruby
• Knowledge of Foreman, Katello, Puppet and Ansible for deployments
• Strong Linux OS skills (Debian/RedHat/CentOS) and automation
• Networking basics, AD/LDAP/NIS/PKI, and virtualization concepts
• Familiarity with ITIL incident and change processes

Responsabilidades

• Define setups for Linux systems and install/support Linux environments
• Handle Foreman MDM tasks and automation playbooks
• Monitor performance and propose improvements based on data

Job Description

IT Operation Specialist – Advanced Linux Support within Airbus Helicopters (Albacete, Spain).

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of Linux computers, servers and applications from request to decommission.
• Define and prepare detailed setups for Linux systems.
• Install and support Linux computers, servers and applications.
• Ensure proper delivery through defined processes.
• Manage Foreman MDM – edit, create and remove masters, environments, Puppet modules, Ansible playbooks, and handle Foreman upgrades.
• Propose continuous improvement on performance based on data and event analysis.
• Support Product Managers in monitoring their performance.
• Create and update documentation for team members.
• Solve complex incidents (hardware, network, drivers, kernel, application).
• Continuously monitor the Linux ecosystem for new technologies.

Profile

• Experience in a large enterprise environment.
• Experience working with partners and subcontractors.
• Good knowledge of Linux system administration (Debian, Redhat, CentOS) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, Ruby, …).
• Experience or good knowledge of MDM tools such as Foreman, Katello, Puppet, Ansible, automated deployments, updates, and environment administration.
• Good knowledge of version control software, iPXE, encryption tools.
• Global knowledge of networking, Active Directory, LDAP, NIS, PKI, virtualization.
• Autonomy in a good team spirit; success factor.
• Knowledge of incident and change management based on ITIL principles.
• Ability to solve complex issues, strong analytical and solution‑design thinking.
• Active listening skills with team and customers.
• Open‑mindedness, self‑awareness, transparency, and a welcome attitude towards feedback.
