To ensure the stability and efficiency of DT-Technik's storage infrastructure, we are seeking a qualified DevOps Engineer Storage. This individual will be responsible for managing the testplattform of our storage infrastructure using our toolset to automate the whole storage plattform. You will join a German storage engineering team, where you will oversee the automation of storage components, serve as the liaison to our storage engineers, and collaborate with the engineering team to enhance the stability of the storage platform and data for DT-Technik applications.

Activity description and concrete tasks

As a Storage Test Environment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our storage systems. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of the Storage Test Environment: overseeing the configuration and maintenance of the storage test environment, ensuring it meets all necessary requirements for effective testing.
  • Creation of Automated Checks for New Versions and Critical Alerts: developing automated systems to regularly check for new software versions and critical alerts, ensuring timely updates and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Execution of Defined Tests for Firmware Release Approval: conducting comprehensive testing of firmware versions to evaluate their stability and compatibility, ultimately providing approval for their release.
  • Response to Operational Needs from Storage Engineers: collaborating with storage engineers to address operational requirements, continuously improving the test environment and rollout processes based on their feedback and needs.
  • Proactive problem-solving and strong collaborative skills to optimize storage solutions.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
  • Project Management and Documentation Tools: proficiency in Jira for project tracking and management, and Wiki for documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • IT Service Management and Monitoring Tools: familiarity with CASM as a ticketing tool, CheckMK for monitoring, and Grafana for data visualization and performance analysis.
  • Database Management: advanced knowledge of MySQL for efficient data operations and management.
  • API Integration: thorough understanding of REST API principles and experience in integrating and automating workflows using APIs.
  • Vendor-Specific Technologies: familiarity with storage solutions from NetApp, Pure Storage, Brocade, and IBM.
Soft Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of automation trends.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) experience, particularly utilizing GitLab platforms.
  • Storage capacity provisioning knowledge.
  • IT infrastructure monitoring and automated alerting expertise.
