Giesecke + Devrient GmbH in Sant Joan Despí, Spain, seeks a senior Infrastructure/Platform architect to lead the roadmap for scalable cloud and on-premises platforms with security, compliance and cost efficiency in mind.

You will mentor SREs and developers, define non-functional requirements, drive IaC and GitOps adoption, and collaborate across product and engineering to deliver reliable, observable systems.

Formación

• 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or architecture roles.
• 5+ years focused on production-scale Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise (architecture, operators, CNI/service mesh, multi-cluster).
• Hands-on with AWS and Azure; hybrid/on-premise integrations.
• Proficient in IaC (Terraform), GitOps, Docker, CI/CD, and observability.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, networking, security best practices.
• Strong communication and leadership; capable of mentoring teams.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and own the infrastructure and platform roadmap, evaluate technologies and patterns for scalability, cost efficiency, and agility.
• Define comprehensive technical specifications with emphasis on security, performance, reliability, observability, and cost optimization.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code and GitOps using Terraform/OpenTofu, Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux, and Ansible.
• Mentor platform engineers, SREs, DevOps and developers; foster collaboration across teams.
• Produce ADRs, design blueprints, runbooks, standards and guardrails, and platform user guides.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks including security vulnerabilities, single points of failure, drift, and cost overruns.

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop and own the infrastructure and platform roadmap, evaluate and recommend technologies and architectural patterns to support infrastructure scalability, cost efficiency, and agility
• Define comprehensive technical specifications, with strong emphasis on non-functional requirements: security (zero-trust, encryption, policy-as-code, compliance frameworks), performance (latency, throughput, high availability, disaster recovery), reliability, observability, and cost optimization
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices using tools such as Terraform/OpenTofu, Pulumi, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux, and Ansible
• Act as a technical leader and mentor to platform engineers, SREs, DevOps teams, and application developers. Foster strong collaboration between infrastructure/platform teams and product/engineering groups
• Produce high-quality, living documentation: architecture decision records (ADRs), design blueprints, runbooks, standards & guardrails, and platform user guides; following best practices
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate infrastructure risks, including security vulnerabilities, single points of failure, compliance gaps, operational drift, and cost overruns

Your Qualifications:

• 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, SRE, or architecture roles, with5+ years focused on production-scale Kubernetes and cloud platforms
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes (architecture, operators, CNI/service mesh, multi-cluster federation, upgrades at scale)
• Strong hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and hybrid/on-premiss integrations
• Proficiency in IaC (Terraform preferred), GitOps, containerization (Docker), CI/CD tooling, and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenTelemetry)
• Solid understanding of databases (relational, NoSQL, distributed), networking (VPC, SDN,load balancing, firewalls), and security best practices (RBAC, secrets management, encryption, vulnerability scanning)
• Proven track record defining non-functional requirements and delivering high-availability, performant, secure systems
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; experience mentoring teams and influencing stakeholders
