Developer Advocate - Platform Engineering & AI Tools

Job summary

Roche seeks a Developer Advocate within the Engineering Excellence & Experience (E3) to bridge the global developer community and Roche platform teams. You will help engineers deliver high-quality software, share best practices, and improve platform adoption across Roche.

You will mentor teams on AppSec and AI tooling, drive technical storytelling, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security and Compliance squads to evolve the developer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of full-stack software development, DevOps, or platform engineering with strong coding and architecture skills.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, etc.).
• Understanding of IaC, CI/CD engines, and container orchestration.
• Experience building reference architectures and starter kits for developers.

Responsibilities

• Prototype technical integrations between core E3 platforms and diverse pipelines.
• Provide hands-on support through troubleshooting, architecture reviews, and pairing sessions.
• Create demos, blogs, and sample solutions showcasing E3 capabilities.
• Engage internal Roche engineers via inner-sourcing, tech talks, and hackathons.
• Offer feedback on bugs and feature requests to improve the developer experience.
• Maintain credibility in internal channels and technical communities.
• Promote organic adoption of E3 across Roche.
• Act as a technical spokesperson for E3 across Roche units.
• Communicate developer feedback trends and platform milestones to leadership.
• Mentor engineers on embedded AppSec and AI tools.
