Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Design Manager to lead the management and coordination of the design team for a major Datra Centre project. This position is ideal for a professional with hands‑on experience in design, international project exposure, and a solid understanding of both public and private sector requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing a multidisciplinary design team through all phases of the project, supporting timely and high‑quality delivery.
- Strategic planning, resource allocation, and day‑to‑day team coordination.
- Budget and Schedule Management : monitoring and managing project timelines and budgets, tracking progress, and identifying potential issues that could impact project delivery.
- Help coordinate design activities, including organizing technical reviews, preparing progress reports, and managing project documentation.
- Work closely with Design Discipline leads, project stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to help ensure compliance with international standards and client requirements.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance : They help ensure that designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements, and that all deliverables are of the highest quality and accuracy.
- Support technical aspects of the design process,
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for design optimization and value engineering.
- Contribute to the implementation of solutions aimed at improving project efficiency and quality.
- Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and value engineering workshops as needed.
- Support the integration of maintenance considerations into the design.
Key Skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Arquitectural or a related field. A Master’s degree is considered an asset.
- At least five years of experience in large‑scale data centre project or industrial facilities.
- Proven experience supporting or coordinating design teams.
- Thorough knowledge of best practices, standards, and lifecycle management of data centres.
- Solid understanding of international codes and standards related to the design and operation of Data Centres.
- English level C1, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, proactive approach, and the ability to assist in decision‑making processes under pressure.
