Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Histotechnologist Specialist in Rochester, NY. The role involves preparing tissue samples, performing embedding, sectioning, staining, and running IHC to support pathologist diagnoses.

Candidates should have an active NY license or limited permit, an associate degree in a related field, and at least two years of relevant lab experience. Per diem hours and full department collaboration are offered.

Formación

• Associate degree or equivalent in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field.
• Minimum two years of Medical Technology/Laboratory experience.
• Active NYS license or limited permit for CLT/Histotech/CLT.

Responsabilidades

• Registers specimens in the LIS.
• Processes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue to produce high-quality slides.
• Prepares processing and staining solutions for tissue sections.
• Performs special and IHC stains accurately.
• Monitors reagents for correct dilutions and expirations.
• Maintains all laboratory equipment per procedures.
• Completes mandatory training and continuing education.
• Manages reagent and supply inventories and notifies when reorder is needed.
• Performs frozen sections for pathologists.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and participates in department meetings.

Educación

Associate’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field

At least two years of relevant Medical Technology Laboratory experience

New York State Department of Education License or Limited Permit as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Certified Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician
