Rigging experience a MUST

WYR is currently searching for a Deckhand to join a 50m private sailing yacht asap in Europe. She is currently having a long yard period and runs with 9 crew, and she will be based in Palma de Mallorca for the winter. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, hands-on deck professional with strong sailing experience and a solid understanding of rigging and deck operations. You’ll be stepping into a key role, working closely with the Bosun and First Mate. This winter, the yacht will be pulling the rig, offering a great opportunity to be involved in rebuilding and refining the rigging systems. There are also extensive sail trials planned for May, so this is a role that will suit someone who enjoys being under sail and wants to get stuck in at the technical level. We are looking for someone with a Yachtmaster Offshore (minimum) and ideally prior experience on large sailing yachts, but will look at crew with smaller sailing yacht experience. You should have a strong understanding of sailing systems, excellent deck skills, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. The crew is fresh and ambitious, and the program supports professional development with course incentives available after two years of service. We are open to candidates already based in Europe.
