Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a world leader in cloud services, operating large-scale, high‑density data centers across the globe. We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for an Electrical Installation Technician. The role involves powering up new racks to increase server and network capacity, working on ATSs, PDCs and catchers, and traveling between sites on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and maintaining the highest standards for safety and actively promoting a world‑class safety culture in all aspects of operational procedures.
- Driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
- Enabling the operations organization to deliver 100% up‑time on all customer supporting infrastructure.
- Collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS customers.
- Following standard operating procedures and tracking issues through appropriate entries into a Trouble Ticket system.
- Prioritizing appropriately in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
- Assessing incoming rack power requirements to ensure adequate system capacity.
- Conducting pre‑delivery circuit testing to verify proper functionality.
- Performing rack energisation, including battery and automatic transfer switch testing.
- Installing and organizing cabling infrastructure and containment systems for rack equipment.
- Executing comprehensive system walkthroughs to confirm proper rack installation and update related monitoring systems.
- Familiarizing with rack operational sequences to address potential issues during testing procedures.
- Verifying proper installation of racks and updating related monitoring systems during system walk-throughs.
Physical Requirements
- Availability to move between local sites in order to cover different locations on a daily basis.
- Ability to work at heights and from ladders.
- Performing physical tasks on a daily basis.
- Working in a noisy environment with ear protection.
- Wearing personal protection equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- FP (Electrical) or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
- Use of spreadsheet and basic office automation.
- May require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
- Ability to lift up to 20kg and stand for extended periods.
- Valid work authorization in Spain.
- English B1 level or equivalent, with emphasis on written comprehension and expression.
- Experience with hand tools and technical assembly preferred.
