Job summary

Ikerian AG is seeking a Research Data Operations Engineer to own the data backbone for researchers—handling pipelines, tooling, and governance across thousands of patient images, modalities, and EHR excerpts. The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, ML infrastructure, and data governance.

You will write scripts, stand up infrastructure, and ensure data integrity end to end, with emphasis on reproducibility and regulatory compliance in healthcare data.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS or related
• 3+ years in a similar role and field
• 2+ years in healthcare sector
• Excellent verbal and written English
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong Python skills (Rust ideal, R a plus)
• Data engineering fundamentals: pipelines, versioning, validation
• Experience handling sensitive/regulated data
• Several years building data tooling and infra

Responsibilities

• Create and support EHR extraction, matching and transformation tools
• Support data versioning (DVC) operations
• Build pipelines to clean, validate and organize clinical imaging data and EHR excerpts
• Assist migration from custom image formats to DICOM
• Make data annotation fast for researchers
• Set up and manage data access controls
• Ensure compliance with clinical and privacy regulations
• Build search and stats tooling for datasets and summaries
• Own data integrity across the data lifecycle
