Eleven VMS is seeking an experienced Lead Data to own the data platform architecture and drive the technical decisions across pipelines. You will remain hands-on and lead a small team including a data engineer and a data analyst, coordinating with product, tech and business stakeholders.

You will design scalable Azure-based pipelines using Databricks, Spark and dbt, focus on governance, security and cost, and mentor the team to deliver end-to-end data roadmaps while enabling AI production

Formación

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or data analytics with lead exposure.
• Hands-on with cloud data platforms, preferably Databricks, and production dbt workloads.
• Strong SQL, Python and PySpark skills with data warehousing and ETL know-how.

Job Description

To lead our young and ambitious Data and AI team we are seeking an experienced Lead Data. You will own the architecture of our data platform and the technical decisions that shape it, while remaining hands-on on our pipelines. You will lead a team of specialists; a data engineer and a data analyst, each an expert in their own field, and act as the main point of contact for our product, tech and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the data platform and the structural decisions that come with it: data modelling, governance, security and cost.
• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines on Azure using Databricks, Spark and dbt.
• Lead and grow the data team: code reviews, technical standards, prioritisation and skills development.
• Translate business and product needs into a prioritised data roadmap, and secure its delivery end to end.
• Guarantee the reliability, quality and cost efficiency of the platform, including Databricks spend management.
• Support the AI team in deploying their developments into production, empowering end-users to harness their full potential.
• Establish best practices and maintain data governance policies and data standards.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and incorporate them into the design of our data platform.

Ideal profile

• Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or related field
• At least 3/5 years of experience in data engineering or data analytics, including a first experience as a lead or technical referent
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-based data platforms, preferably on Databricks
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and PySpark, with hands-on production experience of dbt
• Strong background in data warehousing, ETL processes and data modelling
• Ability to set a high standard of quality and reliability, and to make it hold within a team
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike
• Proactive and entrepreneurial, you are embracing challenges with enthusiasm
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
