Azure Data Engineer – Spain – 6+ month contract - Remote
I’m currently partnering with a global pharmaceutical company dedicated to accelerating drug discovery and improving patient outcomes through data-driven innovation. With a strong focus on research excellence and digital transformation, my client is investing heavily on a large-scale on-premise to Microsoft Azure cloud migration project, modernising critical systems to enhance scalability, security, and data accessibility across research and development teams.
As an Azure Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the migration of legacy on-premise systems and data platforms into Azure, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption to critical business operations
Lead the technical implementation of on-premise to Azure migration projects.
Design and deploy secure, scalable cloud environments using Azure services.
Implement and manage CI / CD pipelines to automate infrastructure deployment.
Manage and optimize Azure SQL Data Warehouse (DW) / dedicated SQL pool environments to ensure peak performance, availability, and security.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as an Azure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Infrastructure Engineer in large enterprise environments.
Solid understanding of on-premise infrastructure (Windows Server, VMware, networking).
English speaking – business proficiency
