Job summary

JSAN Consulting Group in Madrid seeks an experienced Data Center Technician to manage deployment, operations, and lifecycle activities of global data center infrastructure. You will perform cabling, rack work, hardware readiness, and incident coordination to ensure service levels.

You will use DCIM tools such as SunBird and Device42, and ITSM/PM tools including ServiceNow and Jira to drive efficiency, track assets, and maintain SLA adherence across multi-site environments.

Qualifications

• Experience with data center rack and stack operations.
• Experience in deployment, commissioning and decommissioning of infrastructure.
• Familiarity with DCIM tools and ITSM systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage deployment, operations, and lifecycle activities of global data center infrastructure across locations.
• Perform racking, stacking, installation, and commissioning of servers, storage systems, and related hardware.
• Support data center expansion, production onboarding, and hardware readiness activities.
• Execute decommissioning and retirement of legacy infrastructure, including servers and storage devices.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues involving power, batteries, controllers, cabling, and connectivity.
• Coordinate inter-site hardware movement, logistics, and vendor communications for deployments.
• Maintain asset inventory, lifecycle tracking, rack elevations, and infrastructure documentation using DCIM tools.
• Use ITSM and project management tools including ServiceNow and Jira for incident, requests, changes, and coordination.
• Collaborate with remote teams to diagnose and resolve operational incidents.
• Monitor adherence to SLA and MSA commitments across operations and services.
• Manage facility requirements including space, power, cooling, cabling, and connectivity.
• Provide hardware asset details to procurement and billing for PO processing.
• Execute physical cabling activities, uplink validation, and power setup for new environments.
• Ensure compliance with data center standards, safety guidelines, and best practices.

• Perform racking, stacking, installation, and commissioning of servers, storage systems, and associated data center hardware.
• Support data center infrastructure expansion, production onboarding, and hardware readiness activities.
• Execute decommissioning and retirement of legacy infrastructure, including servers and storage devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues involving power supplies, batteries, controllers, cabling, and connectivity components.
• Coordinate inter-site hardware movement, logistics activities, and vendor communications for infrastructure deployments.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory, lifecycle tracking, rack elevation details, and infrastructure documentation using DCIM tools such as SunBird, Device42.
• Utilize ITSM and project management tools including ServiceNow and Jira for incident management, request tracking, change management, and operational coordination.
• Collaborate with remote data center teams and cross-functional engineering groups to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve operational incidents.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to SLA and MSA commitments across Data Center operations and infrastructure services.
• Manage facility requirements including space allocation, power, cooling, structured cabling, under-floor cabling, fiber, and dark fiber connectivity.
• Provide hardware asset details, serial numbers, and asset tagging information to procurement and billing teams for PO processing.
• Execute physical cabling activities, uplink connectivity validation, and power infrastructure setup for newly deployed environments.
• Ensure compliance with data center operational standards, safety guidelines, and infrastructure best practices.
• Support infrastructure health checks, preventive maintenance activities, and incident resolution processes.
• Deliver regular operational updates, technical status reports, and monthly review documentation to stakeholders and management teams.
