Morningstar is seeking a Data Analyst Intern for our EMEA Data Team in Madrid. This 12‑month, full‑time internship targets recent graduates who want to start a career in data analysis.

You will work with a global team to ensure data coverage, quality, and timeliness, while maintaining high standards.

Formación

• Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish and English is required.
• Fluency in other languages is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the financial industry and passionate about investment data.
• Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate large amounts of data with accuracy.
• Experience in project management and knowledge of Microsoft Office are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Work with Data Research Analysts on collection and maintenance of Morningstar data, ensuring accuracy and coverage.
• Assist Data Research Analysts to meet production deadlines.
• Be part of project teams evaluating procedures, creating and enhancing analytical tools.
• Help analyze investment data points and respond to questions from the data team.
• Organize meetings and support daily activities of the Analyst team.
• Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to track and resolve complex data issues.
• Communicate with fund companies and third-party data providers to collect data for databases.

About The Role

Our EMEA Data Team is looking for a Data Analyst Intern to support data processing across global markets. This is a 12‑month, full‑time internship aimed at recent graduates who are interested in starting their career in data analysis.

We are a team of data analysts who maintain strong relationships with partner teams and are committed to delivering data of the highest quality. As a Data Analyst Intern within the Data Division, you will work closely with a global team and take responsibility for data coverage, quality, and timeliness, consistently meeting high standards.

The position will be based in our Data and Development Center EMEA in Madrid.

Responsibilities

• Work with our Data Research Analysts on the collection and maintenance of Morningstar data, ensuring high levels of data accuracy, completeness and coverage.
• Assist the Data Research Analysts to meet the predetermined production deadlines.
• Work as part of our project teams who evaluate procedures, create and enhance analytical tools.
• Help analyzing investment data points and calculations, answering questions from other members of the data team.
• Organize meetings and support the day to day activities of the Analyst team.
• Utilize project management methodologies such as LEAN Six Sigma to track, evaluate and determine resolution approach for complex data issues.
• Continuous communication with fund companies and 3rd party Data providers to collect data for our databases.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish and English is required
• Fluency in other languages (German, French, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Italian, Japanese, Thai, Hebrew) is a plus.
• Solid understanding of the financial industry and passionate about investment data.
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate large amounts of data with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Previous experience in project management and knowledge of Microsoft Office are a plus.

Base Salary Compensation (the Displayed Range (0.0) Is Incorrect)

Internship compensation is €17,094/year

Base Salary Compensation Range

EUR 1,00-1,66

Bonus Target

We expect the compensation and target bonus for this role to fall within the stated range. The specific compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.
