Schwarz Global Services Barcelona is seeking a proactive Data Engineer to build and operate scalable data pipelines for analytics and ML. You will contribute to cloud-based data solutions, emphasize performance and security, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile setting.

The role requires a degree in computer science or equivalent, with experience in Python/Scala/Java, SQL and big data tools like Spark. Barcelona-based, on-site, with opportunities for growth.

Formación

• Degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Interest in data engineering and software development.
• Experience with cloud, containerization and big data; ideally Azure, Kubernetes and Spark.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience developing data pipelines (batch and streaming).
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Scala, Java).
• Knowledge of the software development cycle and its best practices (e.g. CI/CD, DevOps, testing).
• Analytical, agile mindset, independence and hands-on mentality.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and operate productive data pipelines for reports, analytics and machine learning and ensure their quality and future viability.
• Use your software development skills and set new standards for development and deployment.
• Optimize the performance of data engineering solutions and guarantee their scalability.
• Ensure data quality and consistency through data validation and cleansing.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure to minimize downtime.
• Implement data security and privacy measures.
• Work in interdisciplinary agile teams with data scientists, data engineers, product owners and specialist departments.
