Job summary

AstraZeneca plc is seeking an in-office Data & AI governance lead based in Barcelona to drive policy-based controls and governance across the enterprise. This role requires coordinating with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cyber Security and IT teams to ensure consistent adoption of standards and measurable outcomes.

You will translate approved policies into practical guidance, tests and evidence, enabling audit-ready traceability for regulator-ready reporting and decision making.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in Data & AI governance, data governance, risk, compliance or related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of GDPR, GxP, EU AI Act and NIS2 with ability to apply requirements in business settings.
• Experience implementing policies, standards or controls across multiple stakeholder groups.
• Experience guiding workstreams through completion with evidence and milestones.
• Strong analytical capability to test, assess evidence and report accurately.

Responsibilities

• Translate policies and controls into practical guidance, templates and monitoring routines.
• Lead implementation and adoption workstreams across data offices and technology teams.
• Maintain audit-ready traceability linking requirements, controls and evidence.
• Produce concise, decision-ready reporting for Director-level review.
• Organize sessions with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cyber Security and other stakeholders to drive alignment.
• Deliver change communications and training to enable adoption across functions and geographies.
• Maintain current subject-matter knowledge of Data & AI standards and regulatory expectations.
