Roche seeks a Customer Integration Engineer to bridge Roche’s business units with our enterprise AWS Cloud Platform. You will translate BU needs into platform features, assist with implementation, migrations, and troubleshooting of complex use cases, and ensure service continuity across time zones.

Strong AWS, DevOps, IaC, and CI/CD expertise are essential. You will work with cross-functional teams to improve platform efficiency and support critical incidents to minimize downtime.

The Position

Job Description

As a Customer Integration Engineer, you are the bridge between Roche’s cutting-edge Business Units and our enterprise AWS Cloud Platform. Your goal is to ensure that our internal partners don't just "use" the cloud, but leverage it to its fullest potential.

As a Customer Integration Engineer in Roche Cloud Platform AWS you will:

• Be very familiar with the business units allocated to you to support (e.g. gRED & pRED Computational Science CoE, Pharma Commercial, etc) acting as first contact point and translating their pain points into actionable features or fixes for the platform
• Know very well the capabilities of the platform and help with the implementation, migration or troubleshooting of complex use cases
• Be able to provide support continuity by taking over major incidents from the colleagues in other time zones

Job Responsibilities

Description of the area

• Scope / (Content Leadership): Manages integration for specific, defined Business Units (BUs). Acts as the primary "how-to" expert for platform features
• Accountability/Problem Solving: Accountable for BU satisfaction and supports the RCP Managed Service Provider with incident resolution. Solves complex technical hurdles using existing platform tools
• Stakeholder Management: Interfaces with BU engineers and Product Owners. Focuses on translating technical "pain points" into fixes
• Impact/Strategy: Impact is felt through increased BU efficiency. Focuses on the immediate roadmap
• Business/Technical ability: Strong AWS practitioner who understands the "language" of the assigned BU (e.g., Computational Science)

Qualifications

Education / Experience

• Proven experience in solving technical business problems and contributing to projects requiring deep DevOps and Cloud knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to continuously research, learn, innovate, and share knowledge
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, cross-functional, and geo-distributed teams

Technical Skills

• Expertise in building and managing platforms or multi-tenant applications in AWS (account provisioning, landing zone deployment, customizations, exposure of functionality, etc)
• Strong foundation in IaC development, testing and deployment using Terraform or CDK
• Experience applying DevOps principles and Platform engineering practices to build efficient and highly scalable solutions
• Familiarity with Gitlab/Github, SDLC practices and CI/CD
• Hands-on experience using scripting languages such as Python or Bash and testing frameworks like Pytest.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (SAFe), principles, processes, and tools
• Familiarity with the creation and usage of AI agents and their integration in supporting DevOps tasks

Additional Qualifications

• Strong ability to practice sustainable incident response, including managing ITSM processes and conducting blameless postmortems
