Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Creative Writing Evaluators to read, assess, and provide feedback on AI-generated writing across fiction, poetry, essays, and more, helping AI systems produce prose that feels human. This fully remote hourly contract role offers 10–40 hours per week and flexible scheduling.

No publishing credentials required, just a love of language and a keen eye for quality. You will work asynchronously, using rubrics to rate outputs and provide constructive feedback to improve future AI

Qualifications

• Strong command of English grammar, style, and voice.
• Ability to articulate what works and what doesn’t in writing.
• Comfort reading and evaluating large volumes of text across genres.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to avid readers, writers, English enthusiasts, and anyone with a strong literary sensibility. No published writing credits or formal credentials required - just a genuine love of language and an eye for what makes writing sing.

What You'll Do

• Read and evaluate AI-generated creative writing across genres - fiction, poetry, essays, narrative nonfiction, and more
• Assess writing for quality, originality, style, tone, coherence, and reader engagement
• Identify weaknesses such as clichés, unnatural phrasing, logical inconsistencies, or flat characterization
• Provide structured, constructive written feedback using evaluation rubrics and commentary
• Rate AI outputs consistently to help models learn what compelling writing looks like
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

• A genuine lover of reading and writing with a strong sense of literary quality
• Able to articulate what works - and what doesn't - in a piece of writing
• Strong command of English language, grammar, style, and voice
• Comfortable engaging with large volumes of text across diverse genres and tones
• Detail-oriented, consistent, and self-motivated when working independently
• No published writing experience or formal literary education required

Nice to Have

• Background in creative writing, English literature, journalism, or editing
• Experience workshopping or critiquing others' writing
• Familiarity with a wide range of literary genres and styles
• Prior experience with AI tools, content evaluation, or quality assurance
