GE HealthCare seeks a curious Communications Apprentice to assist internal and external communications across Spain and Portugal. You will work with the Europe Communications team to support employee communications, media relations, social media and events.

Role involves drafting content, coordinating town halls, monitoring metrics and helping with executive visibility. 12-month contract; native Spanish required; healthcare/tech industry interest is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism/communications/PR/marketing or related field.
• Must have finished degree/training or equivalent in the last 3 years and not have held this contract before.
• Contract length up to 12 months.
• Native Spanish with strong written and spoken skills.
• Excellent writing and storytelling abilities; clear communication.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Interest in healthcare, technology and corporate communications.
• Proactive, curious, collaborative and eager to learn.
• Comfort using Microsoft 365 tools.
• Experience with social media, basic design or video tools is a plus.

Job Description Summary

We are looking for curious, proactive and hands‑on Communications Apprentice to support internal and external communications activities across Spain and Portugal. You will gain practical experience in a multinational healthcare technology company, contributing to employee communications, media relations, social media, executive visibility and events. Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications

• Support the creation and publication of content for internal communication channels, including employee news, newsletters and announcements.
• Help coordinate town halls, employee engagement initiatives and internal campaigns.
• Work with business and HR stakeholders to gather information, simplify messages and adapt content for the right audience Monitor communication effectiveness and collaboration with board of directors and HR through metrics and measurements.

External Communications and reputation

• Help build a pipeline of stories showing how our people and technologies support customers and improve patient care.
• Help draft and review press releases, articles, interviews.
• Support media relations and media monitoring activities in collaboration with the communications agencies.
• Support executive visibility initiatives, executive briefings and LinkedIn content creation.

Digital & Social Media

• Support content creation for social media channels in collaboration with the Europe Communications team.
• Track engagement metrics and help identify content that performs well.
• Coordinate with creative agencies and external suppliers when required.

Events

• Provide logistical and communications support for internal events
• Assist with presentations, invitations and event communications.

Required Qualifications and desired characteristics

• Degree (completed or in progress) in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
• IMPORTANT: candidates must have finished their degree/vocational training or equivalent in the last 3 years and they must not have had this type of contract previously.
• The length of this contract is up to 12 months.
• Native-level Spanish and strong written and spoken.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex information clear and easy to understand.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
• Interest in healthcare, technology and corporate communications.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• An interest in healthcare, technology, business and corporate communications.
• A collaborative, curious and proactive approach, with a willingness to learn and contribute.
• Comfort using Microsoft 365 tools.
• Experience with social media, basic design or video tools is a plus.
