Frontiers is seeking an experienced copyeditor to refine STM/HSS journal articles, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and a consistent academic voice. You will uphold the Frontiers style while preserving author intent and collaborating with the Production team to deliver high-quality content.

You should have 3+ years copyediting experience, excellent English, and strong attention to detail. The role supports a collaborative, deadline-driven environment with opportunities to lead special projects.

• Excellent written and spoken English with a sharp editorial eye.
• Highly focused and detail-oriented with precision and consistency.
• Strong digital skills including MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and web-based platforms; familiarity with AI tools.

Responsabilidades

• Copyedit STM/HSS journal articles for clarity, accuracy and structure.
• Maintain professional academic tone while preserving author voice.
• Check text for readability and adherence to style guides.
• Quality control for articles copyedited by external suppliers.
• Liaise with Copyediting Team to resolve issues; collaborate with Production.
• Troubleshoot publishing platform issues with IT team.
• Support broader Production initiatives and projects.
• Develop and implement copyediting-related projects.
• Report to the Copyediting Manager.

What you'll do

• Copyedit STM/HSS journal articles for clarity, accuracy and structure, addressing spelling, punctuation, grammar and style
• Ensure all articles maintain a professional, academic tone, while preserving the author's voice
• Check text for readability and adherence to the Frontiers Copyediting House Style Guide
• Perform quality control for articles copyedited by Frontiers' external suppliers
• Liaise with other members of the Copyediting Team to resolve editing and workflow issues
• Collaborate with and provide support for the larger Production team to ensure that all articles requiring copyediting (at any language-quality level) are published on time to the highest quality standards
• Troubleshoot publishing platform issues in collaboration with IT
• Contribute to Copyediting Team, Production and interdepartmental initiatives and special projects
• Develop and implement individual copyediting-related special projects
• Report to the Copyediting Manager

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience copyediting STM/HSS academic journals
• Excellent written and spoken English, with a sharp editorial eye
• Highly focused and detail-oriented, with an instinct for consistency and precision
• Strong digital skills, including proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat and web-based platforms, as well as familiarity with AI tools
• Self-motivated and autonomous, able to exercise sound editorial judgement with minimal supervisionComposed under pressure, with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and balance high volume with meticulous quality
• A collaborative mindset, comfortable working within an immediate team as well as across wider cross-functional and matrix structures
