About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Accounting Manager to lead our general accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success managing teams, implementing best practices, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP in complex, fast‑paced environments. This role requires advanced Excel skills, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive continuous improvement while delivering accurate, timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing accounting team.
- Oversee general ledger activities, month‑end and year‑end close processes, and financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage external audit processes, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Use advanced Excel functions to analyze data, generate reports, and optimize workflows.
- Partner closely with the VP of Accounting on strategic initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, data analysis).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English (advanced proficiency required).
- High level of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Preferred industry experience: Senior Housing, Real Estate, Hospitality, or Healthcare.
- Preferred: Hands‑on experience with Yardi accounting software
