Job summary

Hitachi Energy Spain, S.A.U. in Madrid is seeking a Control Application Engineer to join the ES Regional Office. You will design, implement and test control logic and power algorithms for FACTS devices, and collaborate with international teams to meet customer requirements.

The role requires an MSc in engineering with focus on power systems or related fields, strong software and testing skills, and fluent English. Spanish is a plus; hybrid work in Madrid is offered.

Qualifications

MSc in Engineering with specialization in Power Systems, Control System or related field.
Experience in software development, programming and testing.
Knowledge of power quality applications and FACTS; HVDC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, test and debug control logic and power control algorithms for FACTS devices.
Perform combined testing of the control system software and hardware using real‑time simulators.
Read customer specifications and verify compliance in factory acceptance testing.
Maintain extensive contact with engineering groups, lead engineers and customers throughout the project.
Travel to site to assist energization and ensure safe startup and operation.
Plan and organize daily work with strong ownership.
