Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Contract Manager/Claim Consultant in the construction sector, based in East Africa. The role requires preparing, reviewing, and negotiating variations, claims, and commercial agreements while adhering to legal and regulatory standards. Collaboration with project teams and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes is a key part of the role.

Responsibilities
  • Managing contracts throughout project lifecycles, identifying and mitigating risks
  • Providing advice to clients on contractual obligations
  • Supporting claim preparation and dispute resolution
  • Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating variations, claims, and commercial agreements
  • Collaboration with project teams and stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or master's in Civil engineering
  • Open to relocation East Africa
  • Proven 8 to 10 years of experience as a Contract Manager or Claim Consultant in the construction industry
  • Proficient in English at a professional level
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, contract law, and industry-specific regulations
  • Expertise in claim management, including analysis, preparation, and negotiation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess complex contractual issues
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders
  • Ideally have qualifications as MRICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors), CIOB (Royal Institute of Chartered Builder), CIArb (Chartered Institute of Arbitrators)
