Job description

MotoGP is entering a defining new era. The championship has the opportunity to grow its global audience, deepen its cultural relevance and establish itself as one of the most compelling sports and entertainment brands in the world.

The Consumer Communications Manager will help take MotoGP beyond specialist motorsport media and into the conversations shaping global sport, entertainment and culture. You will build awareness and relevance among new audiences by earning meaningful coverage across mainstream sport, lifestyle, entertainment and cultural media in priority markets.

This is a hands-on, opportunity-spotting role for a well-connected communications professional who can create momentum from day one. You will originate and sell stories yourself, bring the right agencies into play, and work across campaigns, riders, creators, activations and brand partnerships to make MotoGP increasingly difficult to overlook.

Key Responsibilities
Consumer Communications Strategy
  • Create and deliver the annual consumer communications strategy, aligned with brand, regional and audience-growth priorities
  • Build a proactive pipeline of stories around riders, creators, culture, technology, lifestyle, entertainment, activations and fan experience
  • Define the media, narratives and moments that can take MotoGP beyond specialist motorsport audiences
  • Appoint and lead relevant agencies where they add value, while remaining personally accountable for relationships, ideas, pitching and results
Media Relationships & Storytelling
  • Bring established relationships across mainstream sport, lifestyle, entertainment, culture and consumer media into play from day one
  • Create and deliver compelling pitches, press materials, briefings and media experiences tailored to different outlets and audiences
  • Generate meaningful non-endemic coverage around races, campaigns, activations, brand partnerships, creators and major launches
  • Spot opportunities quickly and turn the wider media and cultural agenda into credible openings for MotoGP
Integrated Campaign & Market Support
  • Lead communications support and amplification for brand campaigns, creators, brand partnerships, local activations and fan-experience programmes
  • Work closely with Regional Marketing Leads and local agencies in priority markets, particularly the US, UK, Spain and Italy
  • Coordinate with Social, Content, Digital, Sporting Communications and Rider Opportunities so stories are joined up and amplified
  • Create purposeful access to riders, executives and other spokespeople, with clear objectives, strong briefing and effective follow-through
Performance & Reputation
  • Measure the quality and reach of coverage, message pull-through, priority-market impact and contribution to non-endemic presence
  • Provide clear post-campaign learning and recommendations for future activity
  • Manage assigned budgets, agencies and media-event delivery with pace and accountability
  • Support the Communications Director on consumer-facing issues and reputation matters when required
Key Characteristics
  • Entrepreneurial and energetic: You spot openings and create momentum without being dependent on agencies to make things happen
  • Well connected: You bring trusted media relationships and know how to activate them credibly
  • Creative storyteller: You instinctively find the human and cultural angle that makes a story travel
  • Strong news judgement: You understand what different outlets need and how to earn attention
  • Highly collaborative: You work naturally with riders, creators, marketers, content teams and senior stakeholders
  • Action-oriented: You move quickly, write brilliantly and deliver under pressure
Ideal Experience
  • Strong consumer PR or communications experience within a global sport, entertainment, media, lifestyle, culture or consumer brand
  • A track record of securing high-quality coverage beyond specialist trade or category media
  • Established global and priority-market media relationships, with experience working cross-regionally
  • Experience creating integrated communications around campaigns, talent, events, activations or brand partnerships
  • Excellent English writing and presentation skills; Spanish and other relevant languages are advantageous
  • Experience selecting and managing agencies while remaining a hands-on media operator

  • Private health insurance with a leading provider, available following successful completion of the probationary period. Family members may be added at the employee’s expense at a highly competitive rate, with no co-payments or exclusions for pre-existing conditions
  • Access to a range of discounts and offers from MotoGP partners
