Nextpower Inc is hiring a Compliance Counsel to support our compliance function in Spain and the broader EMEA region. You will advise on data privacy, cybersecurity, labor and employment, anti-bribery and corporate ethics, and internal investigations, partnering with Legal, HR, Information Security, Internal Audit and business leaders to foster an ethics-driven culture.

The role requires a law degree registered to practice in Spain with at least 5 years in regulatory roles, fluency in Spanish

• Law degree and qualification to practice in Spain required.
• Minimum of 5 years in legal, compliance or regulatory roles, preferably in a multinational.
• Experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, labor and employment, anti-bribery or corporate ethics is ideal.
• Ability to provide guidance across diverse regulatory matters with cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Provide compliance guidance on European and Spanish laws including GDPR and ethics.
• Advise on privacy, data protection, incident response and cross-border transfers.
• Guide cybersecurity regulatory requirements and third-party risk management.
• Ensure employment law compliance, investigations, workplace harassment, and privacy matters.
• Support anti-bribery and anti-corruption programs and due diligence.
• Develop and maintain policies, controls, and training to promote ethics.
• Monitor regulatory changes affecting Spain and the EMEA region.
• Partner with Legal, HR, IT, Internal Audit and business leaders.

Sevilla - ESPtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: NX-4235**Job Description:**We are seeking an experienced **Compliance Counsel** to support our compliance function in **Spain and the broader EMEA region.** This role will provide practical compliance guidance across a broad range of regulatory areas, including data privacy, cybersecurity, labor and employment, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, corporate ethics, internal investigations, and regulatory risk management. The ideal candidate is a business-oriented lawyer who can effectively partner with Legal, Human Resources, Information Security, Internal Audit, and business leaders to support a strong culture of ethics and compliance.## Key Responsibilities* Provide compliance guidance to the business on applicable European and Spanish laws and regulations, including data privacy, cybersecurity, labor and employment, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, corporate governance, and ethics requirements.* Support compliance with privacy and data protection requirements, including GDPR, cross-border data transfers, data processing agreements, privacy impact assessments, and incident response.* Provide compliance guidance on cybersecurity regulatory requirements, including cybersecurity governance, operational resilience, incident reporting, third-party risk management, and emerging European cybersecurity legislation.* Provide compliance guidance to Human Resources and business leaders on employment law compliance, workplace investigations, employee misconduct, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employee privacy, and related labor matters.* Support the company's anti-bribery and anti-corruption program by providing compliance guidance on gifts and hospitality, conflicts of interest, third-party due diligence, and compliance with applicable anti-corruption laws.* Conduct and support internal investigations involving alleged violations of company policies, the Code of Conduct, and applicable laws, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.* Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, controls, and training programs to promote an ethical culture and ensure regulatory compliance.* Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and communicate emerging compliance risks and regulatory developments affecting operations in Spain and the broader EMEA region.* Partner with Legal, Information Security, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and business leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks.* Support regulatory inquiries, audits, and interactions with government authorities, as needed.## Key Competencies and Qualifications* **Law degree and qualification to practice law in Spain.*** **Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles, preferably within a multinational organization.*** The successful candidate should have strong experience in more than one of the following areas: compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, labor and employment, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, internal investigations, or corporate ethics, and the ability and willingness to provide compliance guidance across a broad range of regulatory matters in collaboration with internal and external subject matter experts.* Excellent analytical, judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills.* Ability to provide practical, business-oriented compliance guidance.* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional and international teams.* High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound ethical judgment.* **Fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken, is required.*** Proficiency in one or more additional European languages is preferred.At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
